‘Baywatch’ Movie Filmed In Boca Held Its World Premiere Here In South Florida, Will Make Big Screen Debut May 25
Remember way back when Zac Efron and The Rock were in town to film a little movie called “Baywatch”?
Soon we’ll be able to watch Boca and Deerfield’s beaches make their big screen appearance when the reboot of the 1990s hit TV series debuts in theaters May 25.
The cast—including Efron, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Priyanka Chopra—were all back in South Florida this weekend to celebrate the movie’s upcoming release with a sand-colored carpet premiere in Miami Beach, where scenes from the movie were also shot.
Even the original “Baywatch” legend himself, David Hasselhoff, who has a cameo in the film, made an appearance.
The “Baywatch” cast and crew filmed on location in Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach in February 2016, shooting scenes at South Inlet Park, driving their Emerald Bay Beach Patrol ocean rescue vehicles and jet skis down Deerfield’s shores and more. While here, The Rock also met students from Somerset Academy in Boca, and the cast stayed at local favorite Boca Raton Resort & Club.
When “Baywatch” gets released in theaters nationwide next week, fans can expect their fair share of slow-motion swimsuit scenes, with a little more spice than they may be used to from the show.
“We were given creative license to make it more raunchy, more sexy,” Efron told WSVN.
