Boca Burger Battle Gets Local Restaurants Grilling Up Their Most Creative Eats

Burger connoisseurs rejoice: The coals are burning, mouths are watering and the chefs are conjuring up their best grilled masterpieces for the fifth annual Boca Burger Battle.

On Saturday, July 16, the region's best chefs will compete before a panel of acclaimed foodies to determine who serves up the best burger.

Held at Sanborn Square Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the grill-off will also feature craft beer and wine selections, gourmet summer food sampling stations and live music by bands Classic Rock Therapy and Voodoo Possum.

Boca Raton will be well represented in the competition, with Morton's The Steakhouse, Shake Shack, M.E.A.T. Eatery and Taproom, Zinburger, and Saquella Cafe, all lined up for the fun.

Competitors hailing from neighboring cities include BRGR Stop (Coconut Creek); Salt 7, The New Vegan, Cabo Flats, Deck 84, and Burt & Max's (Delray Beach); Tucker Duke's Lunchbox (Deerfield Beach); Bite Gastrotruck (Fort Lauderdale); Munchie's Snack Shack (Greenacres); Atlas Meat-Free Delicatessen (Hollywood); 109 Burger Joint (Sweetwater); and South Florida caterers Gilbert's RIb King BBQ.

A panel of judges will award the coveted titles of Best Grill Master and Best Alternative Grill Master, while attendees will determine the people's choice title, Best Boca Burger.

But snatching the honors won't be easy: The 2015 winners will all be back this year, armed with their best creations.

M.E.A.T. Eatery and Taproom will return to defend its sought after title of Best Grill Master, while seasoned veteran The New Vegan will grill up its best eats to defend its title of Best Alternative Grill Master. Reigning champion Tucker Duke's Lunchbox will also be back to defend its honor and title of Best Boca Burger.

The panel of renown burger experts include local cooks, bloggers and leaders, such as: Rey De La Osa from Publix Aprons Cooking School; Jamie Frankel from Burgers by the Beach; Jan Norris from JanNorris.com; Alex Callegari from The Firefighter Foodie; Rob Adler from Weekend Broward; Commissioner Robert S. Weinroth from City of Boca Raton; and Danny Rivera from BIG 105.9.

General admission tickets are priced at $50, and VIP tickets, which include food and drink tastings, are priced at $75 on pre-sale or $125. Tickets can be purchased here
