Country Living Names Delray Beach Among Best Christmas Towns In America For Its 100-Foot Christmas Tree Tradition
We know that Delray goes all-out for the holidays, but apparently we’re not the only ones to take notice.
Country Living recently named Delray Beach among its list of America’s 20 best small towns for Christmas. Coming in at No. 9 on the list, the city’s beloved 100-foot Christmas tree (and the display that surrounds it) was credited for helping “shift the mood from beach to holiday” this time of year.
After being postponed due to all the rain, this year's Christmas tree lighting will take place Dec. 10. The festivities at Old School Square will begin at 5 p.m. Santa is expected to arrive at about 7 p.m., just in time to see the ginormous display come to life with more than 15,000 lights.
Of course, this isn’t the first time our little town has received a nod from a national publication. Just this summer, Delray snagged the No. 3 spot on Coastal Living’s list of happiest seaside towns in America. (Yes, we should’ve been No. 1, but we’ll take it.)
