Eat Healthy In 2019 At These 7 Restaurants In Boca and Delray

If healthier eating is at the top of your 2019 resolutions list, or if you’re just looking for some healthier options, there are plenty of options to choose from in South Florida. From fast casual to sit-down, here are seven restaurants in Boca and Delray to grab a fresh bite in the new year.

Bolay

Think Chipotle, but with a healthy twist. For a tasty, balanced meal-in-a-bowl, pick a base like black rice or Asian-style sweet potato noodles, then add a protein like lemon chicken or ahi tuna. After, pile on lots of seasonal veggies and add-ons like cheese or avocado, and top it all off with one of three sauces. Bolay’s menu incorporates eight custom spice blends curated by chefs across the country, and all ingredients are gluten-free.

Raw Jūce

With three locations in Boca, Raw Jūce is the spot for your post-workout juice, smoothie or açai bowl. Each shop also offers a variety of organic, plant-based meals and snacks, like kale caesar salad and raw cashew butter cups. For a decadent twist on healthy, try the Blue Steel smoothie — banana, blueberry, almond and cashew mylks, almond butter and oats, garnished with homemade coconut whipped cream, bee pollen, cinnamon and Blue Majik-infused honey. Through Jan. 15, purchase a three-, five-, or seven-day juice cleanse and get $100 back.

Bear’s Food Shack

A favorite of Delray locals, Bear’s is a low-key, Hawaiian-inspired spot on the Ave for when you want something fresh, tasty and fast. They cater to all tastes and cravings with its inclusive menu: poké and açai bowls, as well as greens- and protein-based bowls like the Protein Power Bowl — quinoa, edamame, egg whites, spinach and feta — tacos, sandwiches, salads, smoothies and all-day breakfast. Take your order to go, and head down Atlantic to enjoy it beachside.

Farmer’s Table

As the name suggests, this restaurant in central Boca features seasonal farm-to-table menus, from breakfast to dinner. Each menu offers a plethora of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options or substitutions. Dine in for carefully-sourced ingredients showcased in healthy dishes, such as spaghetti squash with chicken meatballs and pan-roasted salmon with Tuscan bean and vegetable ragout.

BurgerFi

Who says a burger can’t be on your healthy eating list? With two BurgerFi locations in Delray and one in Boca, your fix isn’t far. The burger joint offers several plant-based and lower-cal takes on the classic pairing. Try the Beyond Burger, a plant-based patty topped with all the classics (LTO, pickles, mayo, mustard, ketchup and cheese), or the KetoFi, a double burger with bacon and a fried egg, served in a lettuce wrap. Ditch the bun for lettuce by ordering any burger “green style.”

The Poké Company

Essentially a Hawaiian take on deconstructed sushi, poké is a high-protein, healthy fat meal option. When you visit The Poké Company, you can build a bowl from the bottom up. For your base, choose from kale or white, brown or cauliflower rice. Pick a protein (ahi tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp, tofu or a combination) and choose from different mix-ins, sauces and toppings. Skip the customization altogether and select a bowl from the “Our Moves” section of the menu. Keep it classic with The O.G. — ahi, sweet onion, hijiki seaweed, and sesame — or kick up the spice with The Hot One, featuring salmon, jalapenos and spicy mayo.

TooJay’s Deli

Have your comfort food and eat it, too. TooJay’s is known for their homestyle dishes and comfort food, like French onion soup, latkes and open-faced sandwiches. However, the delicatessen also offers a light menu featuring more than 200 entrees, each under 600 calories. Items such as Shepherd’s pie, Greek salad, and even French onion soup all make the cut.
