Run To Stop Domestic Abuse At AVDA’s Annual Race For Hope

Run towards the end of domestic abuse at Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse’s 18th annual Race for Hope. 

The event will be held on Oct. 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Florida Atlantic University. The race includes a 5K, 10K and kid's dash, and is expected to draw over 1,000 runners, walkers, spectators and volunteers. 

Race participants can set up fundraising pages for themselves or for a team, and those who raise the most money are presented with awards. AVDA will also be giving out Purple Party Awards to attendees who wear purple shoes, shocks, tutus, shorts, T-shirts, glitter and more. 

AVDA is also accepting No Sweat donations from individuals who wish to donate or fundraise without having to run. 

The event will include music, prizes and breakfast foods provided by Harvest Seasonal Wine and Grill. 

To register for the race visit, and enter AVDA’s Race for Hope to register. Prices range from $10-$30 before the race and increase to $10-$35 on race day.

The 5K and 10K races begin at 7:30 a.m. and the kid’s dash starts at 8:30 a.m.
