Saltwater Brewery Wants You To Know Its Screamin' Reels IPA Is Now Available In A Can
Time to drink up.
Saltwater Brewery on Monday announced the release of its first canned beer, Screamin’ Reels IPA. Six packs of the Delray Beach microbrewery’s flagship beer will be available at stores, such as ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Total Wine, The Fresh Market and Whole Foods, spanning from Sebastian to Key West.
The goal was to make Saltwater’s most popular brew more accessible to customers who were out enjoying what Florida has to offer.
“They can bring cans to the beach, on the boat, at the pool, on the golf course, or camping, without worrying that the container might break,” Saltwater Brewery rep Katelyn Perkins said. “Growlers are a great way to bring home specialty beers, but because they are glass, are limiting in a way that cans are not.”
The beers will also be sold at Dolphins games at Sun Life Stadium starting Aug. 29, when the team is scheduled to play against the Atlanta Falcons. The decision to bring the beer to the local football scene was a no-brainer.
“We're huge Dolphins fans, and we wanted to help promote the Florida craft beer scene to other fans at the stadium,” Perkins said.
For now, Screamin’ Reels is the only brew available in cans, but the brewery is planning on canning others, like Sea Cow Milk and Wheat Wave, by spring 2016. Saltwater is also discussing plans to expand to additional top retailers, mom-and-pop shops and craft beer stores, as well as to stores in Orlando and North Florida.
Founded in 2013, Saltwater Brewery is Delray Beach’s first local production microbrewery with a tasting room. It donates a portion of proceeds to ocean-related charities.
