PICCOLO RISTORANTE HOSTS FOUR-COURSE DINNER TO BENEFIT GRACE PLACE SCHOOL
Piccolo’s Italian Ristorante in east Fort Lauderdale is hosting a delicious four-course dinner, including red and white wines, to benefit Grace Place School on Monday, June 29, at 7 p.m.
As many as 2.8 million children run away each year in the U.S. Within 48 hours of hitting the streets, one third of these children are lured or recruited into the world of prostitution. The average age of entry for children victimized by sexual exploitation in the U.S. is 12 – 13 years old and the demand for younger victims is growing. Grace Place School offers a road of hope to youth escaping sex trafficking or youth vulnerable to recruitment and participation in this modern day form of slavery.
Guests will begin their feast on Chef Andres Avayú’s hand-crafted and rolled Meatballs made with four types of meat: ground veal, pork, beef and a small amount of hot Italian sausage that pairs deliciously with his own tangy marinara sauce. These flavorful meatballs rest alongside light and fluffy basil whipped ricotta. The next course is the chef’s unique take on a classical Greek Salad, followed by each guest’s selection of either his Chianti Braised Short Ribs, which are braised for more than four hours in an ‘au jus’ Chianti tomato braising liquid and served alongside creamy sun-dried tomato polenta, or a light and aromatic Rosemary-Roasted Salmon served with a dusting of fresh rosemary on top of beautifully presented grilled asparagus and bed of light and flavorful tomato broth. The fourth course concludes with a scrumptious homemade Chocolate Crème Brulee.
In addition to Chef Avayú’s amazing creations and wine pairings, diners will enjoy guest speakers and a silent auction of sports tickets, trips and other great prizes to round out the evening. The cost is $75 per person and may be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/piccolo-ristorante-hosts-four-course-dinner-to-benefit-grace-place-school-tickets-16568581072.
