Boarding takes place off of Southeast 17th Street where the Bimini Boatyard Bar & Grill used to be. Stepping into its replacement, which was shortened to just “Boatyard,” it feels like you've left land for a ship, thanks to nautical-themed decor appropriate for a restaurant nestled along the Intracoastal. Porthole windows, a chandelier made from 70 spiraling oars and thick ropes running from floor to ceiling offer an at-sea setting for dining on from-the-sea dishes.

Two words: Bimini Bread. Order a loaf to enjoy with your appetizer of tuna tacos, which use a yellowfin tuna and mango-jicama relish. If it's lunchtime, ask for the shrimp roll prepped on a brioche bun with gulf shrimp, avocado, mango and citrus mayo. Or at any time, visit the raw bar for Key West stone crab, gulf shrimp, grouper ceviche and more. And to wash it all down, order a handcrafted cocktail from the indoor or patio bar. Go for the Minty Melon, which uses a Svedka grapefruit jalapeño. And, save room for the tropical fruit cannolis, which come stuffed with passion fruit and mango, topped with cilantro syrup and coconut snow.
